Drusilla “Dee” Ritenour, 75, of Dover, passed away at her home on August 16, 2026.
Born on January 22, 1951, in Dover, Dee was the daughter of the late Francis and Josephine (Contini) Alesiano. She was a graduate of Dover High School with the class of 1969 and The TLC School of Travel. She worked for Veterans of America Chapter 532 for many years.
Dee had a zest for life and enjoyed many things. She loved visiting casinos and gambling, traveling, and cruising around in her beloved Dodge Charger. She owned and operated her travel company, which led her to travel around the world, reflecting her love of exploring new places and experiencing all that life had to offer. Dee especially loved the beach and cherished the time she spent there.
She was a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams. In her younger years, Dee enjoyed playing softball and swimming. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved little tabby cat, Pumpkin, who brought her much companionship and joy.
Dee is survived by her siblings, Buffy (Tim) Monteith, Pamela Beattie, as well as her dear friends, Robin Walker of 40 years, Desiree, Denae, Chelsie, Patty, and numerous other close friends; and a very special “adopted” grandson, Aspen Barker.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Craig Beattie.
Private services are pending and will be held through the care of Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.
Dee will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her love of travel, her independent nature, and the many memories she created with those who knew and loved her. Dee was a proud supporter of St. Judes Children’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
