Gaylord D. Hasseman, age 66, of Dellroy, Ohio,  died Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.

He was born January 23, 1960 in Dover, Ohio and was the son of the late Glenn L. “Popeye” and Mae Louise (Hartong) Hasseman.  His wife, Deane Lynette (Sanford) Hasseman, whom he married April 22, 1980, passed away on August 29, 2024.

Gaylord retired in 2018 from Whitacre Engineering (now Whitacre Rebar)  in Magnolia where he worked as a rebar bender and later as a maintenance man.  He was a sound engineer who operated the sound boards for two local bands,  “Final Chapter” and  “Generations”.  He was fond of being outdoors where he enjoyed mushroom hunting and berry picking.  Gaylord and his late wife Deane participated in drag racing for many years at  the Magnolia Dragstrip (now Magnolia Motorsports Park). He loved to attend auctions and flea markets, always on the lookout for a “deal”.  

He is survived by a daughter, Megan Lynette Hasseman of New Philadelphia, OH, and a son, Jesse Dalton Hasseman of Dellroy, a sister, Mrs. Calista (Paul) Zavasky of New Philadelphia, and two brothers, Jason (Jen) Hasseman of New Cumberland, OH, and Jerrod (Carol) Hasseman of Mineral City, OH.

Calling hours will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5:00 until  7:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville.  A public graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday,  August 31, 2026 in the Union Valley Cemetery near Dellroy with Rev.
