The intersection of State Route 212 and 21, north of Strasburg, will soon be a four-way stop.
The Ohio Department of Transportation put up nonfiction signs on Monday.
District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says, statewide, ODOT is improving two-way intersections into four-way stops.
“Here in about 2-weeks we will have one at the intersection of State Route 21 and State Route 212, located just north of Strasburg at the Stark/Tuscarawas County line, and that will be converted to an all-way stop. This is an intersection that has been on our radar with the crash data and the amount of traffic that’s going through there. We’ve been looking at this intersection and ways that we can improve it. We are going to convert the intersection into an all-way stop to help increase safety there.”
Signs alerting drivers of the upcoming change are being installed. The official conversion is September 14th and all approaches of the intersections will be equipped with dual Stop Ahead warning signs.
