Jeffrey Wayne Dryden, age 69, of Dennison, O., passed away on August 30, 2026, at Union Hospital in Dover, O. He is the son of the late Walter and Thelma (Taylor) Dryden. Jeff was born May 17, 1957, in Dennison, O.
In 1975, Jeff graduated from Claymont High School. He was employed as a machine operator for Penn Central, Conrail and Norfolk Southern for 38 years from September 11, 1975, to September 11, 2013. Jeff was the former Mayor of Dennison from 2016 to 2020. He was also former council for the Village of Dennison, former President of Dennison Little League and a member of the Uhrichsville Moose, Dennison Eagles and American Italian Club.
On April 14, 1990, Jeff married Mitzi (Cottrell) Dryden, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children Taylor (Hannah) Dryden, Nykee (Ryan Chavez) Dryden and Kyle Dryden; siblings George (Gloria) Dryden, Jacquie Whitmire, Greg (Sandy) Dryden and Matt (Penny) Dryden; two grandchildren Remington Paisley Dryden and Magnolia Grace Chavez; his in-laws Ray and Sally Cottrell; brother and sister in law Jeff and Diane Cottrell and a beloved nephew Jeffy Cottrell along with numerous nieces and nephews and two very special young women who were like daughters to him Kelsey Moore and Kass Foltz.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Rocky Dryden.
Funeral services for Jeff will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday September 2, 2026, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Michael Travis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7, (four hours prior to services) on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dennison Fire Department and the Dennison Police K-9 Fund .
The family would like everyone to wear any Ohio Sports Team attire.
