The annual End of Summer celebration is Sunday at Dover City Park with food, music, games, contests and a fireworks display as the sun sets.
City parks director Jeff Matthews says the Dover American Legion 5K kicks things off with registration at 9 a.m. Kids ages 10 to 14 can compete in a home run derby at noon. Vintage baseball is at 1. Car show registration starts at 3. Plus there’s free swimming in the last day of the season for the Dover pool. Music starts with Greg and Shayne at 1:30 then the Moonlyterz at 4. The Foreigner tribute band Head Games starts at 7 leading into the fireworks.
Parking is a little different this year. The parking lot in front of the baseball fields will only be open to handicapped parking with some overflow from the always packed car show.
