Local artists will share their tributes to beauty and wonder of nature at a first-of-its-kind juried art exhibit at the Norma Johnson Center on Saturday.

Dawn Brogan and the rest of the event committee hope to make “Ode to the Outdoors” an annual event at the nature center on the westernmost outskirts of Dover just off State Route 39.

Marsha Freeland with the Tuscarawas County Parks Department says they have been collecting artwork all summer from local artists who can win cash prizes at the exhibit.

Some of the artwork will be for sale at the Saturday gala from 5 to 8 p.m. at the newly renovated Red Barn at the Norma Johnson Center.

Tickets, at $20 each, are limited. Ticket-holders will be treated to mocktails and hors d’oeuvres and can vote for the “People’s Choice” award. Buy tickets through the Norma Johnson Center or find the QR code on the Norma Johnson Center Facebook page.
