Heather Sue Root – September 11, 2026

Heather Sue Root, 54, of Dover, passed away on September 11, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia following a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Dover on May 19, 1972, Heather was the daughter of Lloyd F. and Rebecca Marie (Schupbach) May, Jr.

Heather was a 1990 graduate of Dover High School and continued her education at Kent State University. She was employed by Arthur Middleton Capital Holdings in North Canton.

Heather found great joy in the simple things in life. She loved to read and especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and tending to her flowers. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and those she loved.

She is survived by her two children, Clayton Fabynick and Samantha Fabynick, both of Dover; her grandson, William Fabynick; her parents, Lloyd F. May Jr. and Rebecca Marie (Schupbach) May of Dover; her brother, Jody (Michelle) May of Dover; and her nieces and nephews, Michael, Michelle, Meghan, Marcus and Maci.

Heather will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

A celebration of Heather’s life will be held Friday, September 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Geib Funeral Center in Dover.
