The New Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a shooting incident where the victim has died.
An initial release says on Sunday, just after 4pm, a couple of 911 call came in from 238 2nd Street SW, but there was no answer on a call back.
A third call reported a shooting had occurred and one male was injured. When officers arrived on scene, they apprehended one male and provided aid to another until the arrival of the New Philadelphia Fire Department. Police believe this to an isolated incident.
In the latest release, New Philadelphia police confirmed that the shooting victim, 42-year-old Christopher Damron, from the city, died from sustained injures. Police are currently withholding the name of a suspect, who is in custody, pending the filing of formal charges.
