Tuscarawas County Democrats are accepting resumes for Dover city treasurer.
Susan Solvey, the city’s treasurer for the past 14 years, resigned from the elected position effective Wednesday.
Interested candidates should submit their resumes to the Tuscarawas County Democratic Central Committee by October 19th. Committee members will meet the next day at Democratic Party Headquarters in New Philadelphia to interview applicants and select a candidate who must live in Dover and be a Democrat.
The appointee will have to run for the office in 2027 to complete the remainder of the term that ends in 2029.
Mayor Shane Gunnoe says Solvey was an asset to the city. He and employees in the auditor’s office will take over the treasurer’s responsibilities until a new one is appointed.
Resumes can be sent via email to: tuscdems@gmail.com or the Tuscarawas County Democratic Party, PO Box 524, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
