A plaque is unveiled to recognize Greg DiDonato’s public service from mayor to the statehouse.
Dennison Administrative Assistant Tammie Taggart was behind collecting the funds for the purchase and installation outside of Village Hall.
“We are proud to claim him as our own. In honor of his lifetime dedication to our town, we would like to name the intersection of N. 3rd and Grant as DiDonato Square.”
DiDonato says serving the community is a passion.
“As you know, my grandfather and father were railroaders. Our roots are here. I just love community. This is home for me. I go away for a week, and I look forward to coming back.”
DiDonato served as Village of Dennison from 1984 to 1900, from 2008 to 2009, and from 2020 to the present. He was also on council from 1980 to 83 and from 2012 to 2020.
DiDonato also served at the state level in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1991 to 1994 and in the Senate from 1997 to 2004.
He also has been and is a part of many local civic organizations.
State Representative Jodi Salvo presented a proclamation recognizing DiDonato.
