The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office has identified the two women killed Sunday when they were pinned between two pickup trucks.
A press release names them as 58-year-old Dawn D. Martin and 34-year-old Latasha Martin, both of Uhrichsville.
Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell says they were a mother- and daughter-in-law who had just been exhibitors at the fall festival at Atwood Lake.
Campbell says they were driving separate pickup trucks when they stopped at the Atwood Dairy Bar parking lot.
Campbell says it appears they were checking on an open door on one of the trucks. They were between the vehicles when one that had not been put in park rolled forward, pinning them. They were stuck there for about two hours before a passer-by noticed around 9:30 p.m.
Campbell says deputies attempted CPR and other life-saving measures, but it was too late.
The bodies of both women were taken to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies. The cause and manner of death are pending.
