The Tuscarawas County OSU Extension Office is launching a new program to help young people explore careers in agriculture.
This free, year-long program called “Around the Industry: Discovering Your Place in Agriculture” is open to all Tuscarawas County youth ages 13 to 19, with no farm experience required.
4-H Educator Chris Kendle says it will involve monthly sessions at various locations.
Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educator Delaney Weisend (why-sind) says the program will introduce participants to a wide range of opportunities, including agricultural technology, conservation, livestock, food systems, business, and leadership.
The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14th at 6 p.m. at Mutti Dairy Farms on County Road 21 in Stone Creek.
The program will also include a visit to Ohio State’s Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster.
The program is free, and registration is encouraged to help organizers prepare materials.
To sign up, you can visit the Tuscarawas County OSU Extension Office online.
