The two Claymont School buildings in Dennison were sold at a Wednesday evening auction hosted by Cronebaugh Auctions and Barnett Realty.
The first up was for the Intermediate building. The bidding price was held at $170,000. The auction continued with the sale of the Northside gym and playground, and the bid was held at $105,000.
The education board went into executive session before taking a vote and accepting both bids.
Purchasing the three-story building is Rodney Gordon, who previously bought the former Park Elementary in Dennison. The gym building was purchased by Larry Nardi.
Claymont Superintendent Brian Rentsch says they are happy with the amounts, and they are looking forward to a quick closing process.
“Far exceeded that projection. We’re very happy with what they brought. We wanted to be out prior to winter, and the new owners can take over from that point forward.
The listed closing date is by December 1st.
