Tuscarawas County Historical Society Annual Winter Banquet – Collecting America 250 Reservation Deadline
Join the Tuscarawas County Historical Society and area partners for a final celebration of America 250. The Annual Winter Banquet of the Tuscarawas County Historical Society will be a crowning activity for a year’s worth of celebrations. The Society’s formal mission is “to collect, identify, and preserve relevant historical documents, pictures, photographs, maps, and other materials relative to the history of
Tuscarawas County.” We would be amiss to not create a collection of our nation’s Semiquincentennial and the many efforts put forth by our county to mark this momentous occasion.
Since the beginning of 2024 the Tuscarawas County Conventional and Visitors Bureau has conducted a meeting of partners to facilitate the many events and programs to honor the 250th birthday of America in our county. For the banquet we are inviting those partners to attend and donate archival material from their events, displays, programs, special projects, and more to our America 250 Collection. Donations of these items will take place during the banquet and special program at the Tuscarawas County Historical Society’s Annual Winter Banquet on Tuesday, November 17 at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Senior Center is located at 435 Prospect Street in Dover. Partners will say a few words about their commemoration of the Semiquincentennial and present their donation. This will be a great way to look back on the year for one more celebration of America.
The banquet will be a culmination of all the work put forth in the past few years by Tuscarawas County to make 2026 a grand celebration of our nation’s birthday. The cost of the banquet is $35 and includes a buffet meal and dessert. Any proceeds from the banquet will be put towards the preservation of the America 250 Collection and the Thomas and Lucille Yeager Memorial Scholarship Fund. To date, ten
scholarships have been awarded to Tuscarawas and Carroll County high school seniors. To make a reservation, send your name and phone number along with payment by November 2, 2026 to the Tuscarawas County Historical Society; P. O. Box 462; New Phila, OH 44663. For any questions please contact the Historical Society at 330-663-6844 or tuschs@tuschs.org.
Wear your red, white, and blue and please join us for a final celebration of America’s 250th Birthday!
