Republican Lisa Contini – Tuscarawas County’s chief deputy auditor – appears set to move up and succeed auditor Larry Lindberg when he retires at year’s end.

Contini expects a smooth transition.

“I’ve been in the auditor’s office for about two years now with Larry and just continuing with what we’re doing and learning from him, and he’s having me do more and more every day.”

Overall, she is thrilled about the outcome.

“I didn’t know what to expect given this is my first campaign so to be honest I had no idea, but I’m excited for the turnout. I’m excited to continue working in the auditor’s office and do what’s best for the county.”

Based upon Tuesday’s unofficial election results, Contini won the race with about 67% of the vote.
