A free diabetes screening event is coming up Saturday at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month.
Union Hospital Community Health and Wellness Nurse Mindy Hoopingarner says the event runs from 8 to 11:30 Saturday morning in Reeves Auditorium and will include A-1-C blood sugar testing, blood pressure checks, and foot and eye exams.
Hoopingarner says the screenings can help identify diabetes and prediabetes, even in people who aren’t experiencing symptoms.
She says anyone with a family history of diabetes, prediabetes, or concerns about their blood sugar should consider attending.
The event is free, but registration is required. Space is limited.
To reserve a spot, call 330-602-0779. Again, that’s Saturday from 8 to 11:30 at Union Hospital.
