AAA is advising motorists to be cautious this upcoming Independence Day travel period.
According to AAA Media Spokesperson and Safety Advisor, Lynda Lambert, over 50 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this holiday weekend.
AAA’s top three calls include lock-outs, dead batteries, and flat tires. Drivers can avoid these situations by planning ahead to reduce stress and taking vehicles to a trusted mechanic to have a full vehicle inspection.
Along with a vehicle inspection, it is helpful to keep a fully stocked vehicle-emergency kit on hand. Travel agencies predict this weekend will set a record fo the number of families on the road. The busiest travel day is expected to be Friday, while Sunday and Monday should have minimal traffic impacted on the roads.
If an unexpected situation occurs while traveling this Independence Day travel period, you can contact AAA through their mobile app or at 800-222-4357.
