Ohio State Highway Patrol New Philadelphia Post units were on the scene of an Interstate-77 accident for approximately an hour.

The traffic collision occurred just before 1:30 pm on I-77 NB by Schneiders Crossing in Dover. According to Trooper Maddock, the cause of the accident was loss of control.

“There were two vehicles involved. One was a 2007 Hyundai SUV that was headed southbound on I-77. The driver of that vehicle lost control, went across the center grass median, and struck another vehicle that was northbound on I-77.”

The driver and passenger of the SUV were both injured and transported to Union Hospital. The other driver had minor injuries and was not transported.

Other departments on scene were the Dover Fire Department, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
