Ticket sales are currently underway for a limited seating event that will help out the Friends of the Tuscarawas County Library.
The group is holding an acoustic night fundraiser on Wednesday, October 9th, which will feature local guitarists and ukulele performers.
Committee member Candy Bearber explains that the dollars raised goes back into providing for the Tuscarawas County Public Library’s main location.
“All funds used from this event will help provide different things for our library. Just recently we purchase books and they are for early readers helping to learn phonics. They’re audio books so kids can read along. We have provided money for a free reading tutor at the library this year, this fall, it’s on Wednesday available for K through 5th [grade].”
Other previous purchases have included makerspace equipment, a five in one heat press, a microfilm computer, and healthy snacks were provided to any child that came to the New Philadelphia library.
The evening will be at Hans’ Place, on Old Route 39 NW, in Dover, and one of the performers will be Diann Sherrets, who says there will be a variety of songs, adding that this is a worthy fundraiser that has direct community impact.
“Help support them, and we appreciate everything that the library does offering all the children things that maybe they, financially, can’t afford so it makes it available to them. Just an excellent program.”
$40 tickets, which includes a meal, need to be purchased by Friday, October 4th due to food count preparation. Tickets are available at the main library.
