Ada Garber, 87, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Park Village Care Center in Dover following a period of declining health.

She was born in Holmes County on September 12, 1936, to the late Jonas J. and Malinda (Yoder) Keim and married John D. Garber on April 4, 1956. He died on March 25, 2014.

She was a member of NewPointe Church in Dover.  She is retired from Owens Brockway in Berlin.

She is survived by her children, Carla (Lonnie) Hershberger of Strasburg, Gary (Linda) Garber of Sugarcreek, Robert (Mary) Garber of Crystal Springs, Florida, and Douglas Garber of Steamboat River, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Andy (Christina) Garber, Cory Hershberger and Jada Redmon; 5 great grandchildren, Sunny Evangeline Garber, Jack Garber, Kai Garber, Ace Redmon and Hadley Redmon; siblings, Jonas Jr. (Lena) Keim of Atlanta Georgia, Malinda (Ed) Wolfe of Wooster and Susan (Jeff) Linder of Orrville; sisters-in-law Charlotte Keim of Chester and Lizzie Keim of Sugarcreek; and her special friend Linda Brown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Aden Keim, Roy Keim, Wesley Keim, Mattie Hershberger, Esta Keim, Clara Raber, Edna Haun, Elizabeth Fishburn, MaryAnn Haven, Jacob Keim, and Ella Weimer.

In keeping with Ada’s wishes, private family services will be held, and burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
