Albert Philip Tecza, 72, a resident of Uhrichsville, Ohio since 2014, previously a resident of Orangeburg, South Carolina for over thirty years, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at The Cleveland Clinic, after a period of declining health. Born December 23, 1948 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Adalbert Wojciceh and Stella (Dytko) Tecza.

After spending 4 years employed by the FBI in their data analytics division, Al enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for 6 years. He then earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina in business management, preparing for his years as a manager with Food Lion. He then was a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in their Orangeburg County office for over 20 years until his retirement.

In 1992, Al married his longtime love, Rita (Maroscher) Tecza with whom he shared a passion for antiques and their restoration, even running a business together called APT Ideas. They enjoyed 24 years of marriage together until her passing in 2016. Al loved classic cars and spent many happy hours restoring, caring for, driving, and talking about his favorites in his collection. He was an outgoing man who loved talking to people and was always eager to help anyone he could. He is survived by his sister, Jane Haney, and a large loving family, as well as a host of dear friends, including Nathaniel Green.

In keeping with Al’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His family is planning a celebration of his life, and this website will be updated with details as soon as they are available. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Blue.
