Alma Jean “Punkie” Roahrig, 94, of Dennison passed away on June 29, 2024, at Park Village Southside following a brief illness. She was born on July 15, 1929, in Dennison to the late Bennie Albert and Harriet L. (Hisky) Fox. 

Punkie graduated from Dennison High School in 1947, in addition to being a homemaker she worked as a nurse’s aide in Twin City E.R. for 17 years. Her deep faith led her to many roles at Park Chrisitan Church, including treasurer for 20 years, a member of the choir, Bible school teacher, and Phoebes Friends. Punkie was also a longtime volunteer at Dennison Depot, Twin City Hospital coffee bar, and Twin City Christian Services Center. She enjoyed her time with family and was an avid traveler. 

On August 2, 1948, she married Blaine G. Roahrig who preceded her in death on April 26, 2007. They are survived by their children, Polly (Paul “Gee Gee” Palandrani, Jerry (Karen) Roahrig, and Larry Roahrig; grandchildren, Tony (Jessi) Palandrani, Bobby Roahrig, Jeremy (Tristan Voskohl) Roahrig, Lindi (George) Ypsilantis, and Jared Roahrig; great grandchildren, Nolan Roahrig, and Frankie and Molly Palandrani; a special niece, Wendy Matthus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lynne Roahrig, and siblings, Bobby (Lille) Fox and Jody Matthus.

Services officiated by Pastor David Bryan will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3 at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Dover’s Ridgecrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to New Philadelphia Salivation Army. The family would like to extended their deepest gratitude to Traditions Hospice and Park Village Southside for the loving care they showed Punkie in the last 2 years.
