Alvin Leroy “Butch” Draher, 77, of Rush Township near Uhrichsville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, after battling cancer. Born July 13, 1944, in Dover, he was a son of the late C. Ralph and Helen (Sopinski) Draher.

Butch was a Tuscarawas County resident throughout his life and spent many years working with his sons doing residential construction with Side by Side Siding. He loved fishing, was a Ham radio operator and loved racing at Midvale with his sons. Butch was a longtime member of the Dennison Eagles and the Uhrichsville Moose.

On May 23, 1964, Butch married the former Barbara Sue Veigel who survives him at their home. He is also survived by their three children, Bob (Valarie) Draher, Missy (Mike) Brooks, and Tim (Lori) Draher; grandchildren, Donna Cox, Brian Draher, Kayla Draher, Chris Farrell, Wayne Garabandt, Kyle Garabrandt, and TJ Draher; and many great-grandchildren. Butch is survived by his siblings, Alice (Jeff) Edie and Carl (Jackie) Draher, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Conidi, and his parents-in-law, Homer and Verna Veigel.

Pastor Mike O’Guin will officiate a 6:00 p.m. funeral on Friday, July 8, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
