Taylor Hicks was the winner of American Idol’s fifth season and he’ll be performing locally this Friday.
Tickets are still on sale for the 7pm event and are $52.
The Ohio Star Theatre will host the artist who has been hailed as being part Motown and part honky-tonk by The New York Times, something the artists agreed with during an interview.
“When you’re talking about who I am as an entertainer, the first thing is I’m a roadhouse musician I’ve got a roadhouse band and we lay it down.”
Following his 2006 win, Hicks had a No. 1 Billboard single, and he also ventured into theater with the Broadway musical “Grease”, he also appeared on Law and Order: SVU, and has even opened a restaurant in his native Alabama.
