Gwen Rummell Reporting –

The Tuscarawas County Health Department, in partnership with Addiction Policy Forum, has launched a community survey to learn more about addiction.

As part of the Anti-Stigma Initiative, the survey will help garner a better understanding of the attitudes and knowledge people have of addiction and where literacy needs to be implemented.

The Addiction Policy Forum states the goal behind the Anti-Stigma Initiative is to “reduce addiction stigma, including stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination intent; increase knowledge about addiction in their communities; improve helping behaviors towards individuals with a substance use disorder; and identify levels of addiction stigma in a community to establish a baseline indicator.”

Anyone can complete the survey and their responses will be anonymous. The completion time of the survey is estimated at 15 minutes.

To complete the survey, visit the Tuscarawas County Health Department’s Facebook page or www.tchdnow.org.

Any questions regarding the survey can be directed to healthed@tchdnow.org or 330-343-5555 extension 1780.
