The Tuscarawas County Health Department has confirmed a 14th case of measles in the county this year.

Community Relations Director Jennifer Demuth says the individual was fully vaccinated against measles, making it the second case in the county involving a vaccinated individual.

She says all of those infected in Tuscarawas County have recovered or are recovering. And the vaccinated individuals experienced very mild symptoms. The cases in Tuscarawas County range in age from 1 to 40, with 12 of the 14 individuals unvaccinated. The first cases were reported in mid-July after exposures at events in Sugarcreek and Bloomfield.

All the cases are linked to what the Ohio Health Department is referring to a northeast Ohio measles outbreak. Health officials have reported over 250 measles cases in Ohio this year, up from 45 in all of last year.
