Dover City Council recently approved two legislation pieces coming from the Service Committee.

Chairman Greg Bair presented ordinance 19-23 relating to sidewalks and ordinance 20-23 for additional money for a bridge project.

The first legislation passed and provided an authorization for the Director of Public Service.

“To apply for a state fiscal year 2024 Ohio Department of Transportation ODOT grant cycle of transportation of alternative program, TAP, for the extension of sidewalks from the downtown area to along W. 3rd Street.”

The second one designates the mayor or service director as local authority to execute a project agreement known as the Tusc Dover 20th Street Bridge.

“Authorize the additional expenditures, of $45,000 in addition to the $246,090 for bidding, design, and acquisition costs.”

This ordinance also passed unanimously.

Environmental reviews could hold the project back a few months, but the goal is to bid the project in February.
