Mary Alice Reporting –
A New Philadelphia man sustained injures, on Tuesday, August 20th, after being assaulted by a group of men.
The City’s police department issued a release indicating they, along with fire paramedics, had responded at 4:15pm to a home in the 600 block of Fair Avenue NW and located the male victim, who sustained multiple facial fractures, abrasions to his face and head, and a cut on his ear. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.
Through an investigation, detectives learned that the group of men, who all work for the same energy service company, had been drinking alcohol at a local establishment and after several hours, they left and went to the victims’ home.
As soon as the victim opened the door, the men assaulted him and pushed him back into the residence, where the assault continued before the group left in two separate trucks. The victim’s wife was home at the time but not injured, and had called 911.
New Philadelphia Police Detectives processed evidence, took witness statements, and looked at surveillance footage, leading them to identify all parties involved and subsequently obtaining arrest warrants. No names were provided.
Police add that the victim was specifically targeted by the group for personal reasons.
