Mary Alice Reporting –

Tuscarawas Valley Local and Buckeye Career Center students, faculty, alumni, and family of those in the school district are invited to submitted visual or written works.

The downtown of New Philadelphia exhibit will be in place for one year and submissions are being accepted until Friday, March 29th.

Tuscarawas Arts Partnership Executive Director Wilma Mullet says that the Community Healing Exhibit is a response to allow the community to heal together, especially after a tragic November bus accident.

“The arts have a very powerful way of being able to tap into a person’s spirit and soul, and that’s really what we want to do through this space. To allow the creative pieces to have a space where they can reach more people that may need to see something where they feel like they’re not alone and going through the process they’re going through.”

Images of 2D original artwork (painting, drawing, graphic design, printmaking, etc.) and written pieces (poems, song lyrics, creative writing prompts, etc.) can be submitted by filling out the form on www.tuscarawasartspartnership.org.

Anyone in need of emotional support can contact New Life Counseling at 330-343-6600 or SpringVale Health Centers at 330-343-6631 or call the 24/7 crisis hotline for Tuscarawas County at 330-343-1811 or in Carroll County at 330-627-5240.
