Arthur Robert Zay, age 92, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at his residence, following a sudden illness.
Born July 25, 1930, in Uhrichsville, O., Bob is the son of the late Arthur C. and Gertrude M. (Spence) Zay.
In 1948, Bob graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He then enlisted in the U. S. Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. One of Bob’s first jobs was working with his father at the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Dennison. He then retired from the insurance business where he worked for Peoples Life Insurance Company. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville, O., where he participated in the Men’s Fellowship. He liked fishing in his younger years and in recent years having breakfast at Big Bend Golf Course.
Bob is survived by his four daughters Linda M. Ohler of Dennison, Cathrine M. (Matthew) Wheeler of Uhrichsville, Robin A. (William) Swonger of Dover, and Christine L. Sapp of Uhrichsville; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife Donna I. (Polen) Zay, who passed away December 23, 2009; his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Carole Zay and his son-in-law Tim Ohler.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with Pastor Kory Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, O.
Calling hours will be from 11 to 1, (two hours prior to services) on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the funeral home.
