B. Carol McPherson, 92, of Stonecreek, died peacefully Wednesday September 3, 2025.
She was born October 18, 1932 to the late Pearl Bryan Leport and C. Lucille (Newman) Miller.
As a devoted homemaker, Carol believed in working hard every day, always keeping busy caring for her home and family. Her children recall times of their mother singing as she worked around the home and family celebrations together, and she loved playing hide and seek with them. On March 5, 1964, Carol married Russell E. McPherson. The couple worked together for many years on their farm caring for the many animals, gardening, preserving their crops and many other tasks needed around the farm. Carol took great pride in caring for her various plants, which was a natural talent. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and her many beautiful flower beds. Any plant touched by her hand was sure to thrive. Carol, an avid lover of animals, was never found to be without dogs by her side.
Carol is survived by her beloved Chow Roxie; her sister Hope Enos (Gary); her son John J. Malloy (Cindy); her daughters Kathleen Malloy and Linda (Paul) Boyd; her grandchildren Kenneth, Michael, Daniel, David, Matthew, Teresa, Thomas, Jennifer, Anna, Caitlin, Rhonda, Scott, and Christopher; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and twenty-one great-great grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents C. Lucille Miller and Pearl Bryan LePort; husband Russell McPherson; siblings Jack Miller, Tommy LePort, Naomi Rinehart, Libby LePort and Ralph Miller. Carol is also preceded in death by her children William Malloy, Nancy Lorenz and Madeline Malloy.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 9 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Addy Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mark Gross officiating.
