A 36-year-old New Philadelphia man is in jail after police say he wandered into a random person’s home in Dover a few days after allegedly stealing a Walmart delivery driver’s car.

Logan Adams had his bond set at 50-thousand dollars Tuesday on charges of theft and trespassing, both felonies.

Dover Police Captain Josh Roach says on Sunday at around 6:20 a.m., Adams entered a Crater Avenue home likely through an unlocked back door after the man who lived there went for a run at Crater Stadium. His wife encountered Adams coming out of the basement, according to the report, and called police.

The man didn’t hurt anybody and was arrested peacefully. Roach adds Adams is also a suspect in a car theft that happened last Tuesday.

Police allege Adams jumped into a Walmart delivery driver’s vehicle when he was dropping off a delivery at the intersection of East 3rd and North Cross streets. The car was later found behind the Travelodge in New Philadelphia.

Roach notes police couldn’t find Adams until he showed up again at the Crater Avenue home. Adams is also mentioned in a Dover police report from Saturday where an East 4th Street resident says someone was looking in their windows and stole a pink bicycle.

The bike was recovered a block away, and the resident did not pursue charges. Police did encounter Adams at the time. He ran from police and denied taking the bicycle, according to the report.
