Donald E., Sr. and Barbara Jean Weaver – Together Again
Barbara Jean Weaver, age 83, of rural Bowerston, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior, and join the company of her deceased family members on Sunday morning, December 14, 2025, from her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 6, 1942 in Barberton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late James Allen and Edith Marie (Bissel) Wilkerson. Her husband, the late Donald E. Weaver, Sr., whom she married August 3, 1958, passed away on December 6, 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Lance A. Weaver.
She retired in 1992 from the former Betsy Ross Foods in Akron Ohio after 28 years of service to the company. She also had worked for the late Ed Clow at the former Clow’s Landing Marina at Leesville Lake. She has been a welcome and faithful member of the Sherrodsville Calvary Church for the last several years. Barb lived in Ohio all of her life and loved the outdoors. She had a deep caring nature toward animals. She also enjoyed Muskie fishing with her late husband Donald. A caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her family and a host of friends.
She is survived by her children Alice M. Weaver of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Donald E . “Buck” Weaver, II of Caldwell, OH, Mrs. Donna Jean (Dean) Christy of Akron, OH, and Cary M. (Brenda) Weaver of Bonita Springs, Florida, eleven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren (including three sets of twins), and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Kenneth Ogg officiating. Interment of her ashes will follow at a later date in the Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
