Wayne township firefighters say no people or animals were injured in a blaze that leveled a large barn in Dundee.
Chief Josh Yoder says both the owner and a neighbor reported the fire around 5:20 am Sunday in the 11-thousand block of trail bottom road northwest.
The barn was approximately 150 by 100 feet in size with about 200 round hay bales inside along with a pickup truck and a payloader.
Yoder says he could see the orange glow in the sky from about a mile away and the barn had already started to collapse when firefighters arrived.
Yoder says about 80 firefighters from 10 departments responded, having used about 200-thousand gallons of water in all. He says the final units were there until around 2pm.
Yoder says the cause of the fire for now is undetermined but does not appear suspicious. He says they will follow up with the state fire marshal Tuesday.
