The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office says watch out for a phone scam from a man pretending to be a deputy.

The caller, described as a male with a heavy southern accent, has been leaving messages requesting a return phone call and claimed the called individual has a warrant. The phone number shows up as blocked. The sheriff’s office says it serves warrants in person and would never call someone to advise them of a warrant or to request payments.

Anybody who thinks someone is trying to scam them should call the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office.
