Beatrice Rose Swaldo, age 86, of Brightwood, died peacefully, Thursday, November 23, 2023, surrounded by her family, in her residence, following a brief illness.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on September 3, 1937, Bea was a daughter of the late James and Anna Smith Williams.
She was a graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School and on August 8, 1959, married Franklin D. Swaldo. Together the couple raised two sons and shared in 30 years of marriage prior to his death on December 23, 1989.
Bea was a member of Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. She loved cooking for her family and friends and never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved caring for her dogs and joining fellow classmates on monthly luncheon outings.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Swaldo of Brightwood, and Barry (Jody) Swaldo of Charles Town, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Derek Swaldo and Jenna Swaldo; a great-grandson, Christopher Swaldo; a brother, James Williams; two sisters, Jackie (Jack) Albaugh, and Jane Sensius; a sister-in-law, Delores Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bea was preceded in death by a brother, Sherlee Williams; a sister, Betty Dupler, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 10:30 – 11:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Fr. Jeff Coning will lead a service beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial alongside her husband will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
