Enbridge Gas Company officials are using August 11th, or 8-1-1, to promote the number people need to call before starting any digging projects.
Enbridge spokesperson Stephanie Moore says calling 8-1-1 two business days before starting any excavation work is not only the safe thing to do, but it’s also the law.
Moore says there could be both health and legal consequences for not taking these precautions.
People can also contact 8-1-1 for the free service by visiting oups.org or by using the Ohio 811 app.
