Bette Anne Spring, 84, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, was called to the more immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, with her loving son, Greg, by her side. Born June 10, 1940 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was the last surviving daughter of the late Henry Carl and Thelma Christine (Packer) Spring, having been preceded in death by her sisters, June Elaine Rice and Marilyn Miller, as well as her brother, Danny Spring, and brother-in-law, Roy Rice.
Bette Anne grew up in Uhrichsville where she attended First Moravian Church of Uhrichsville and was a 1958 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. She was a secretary in the office of several area businesses, beginning with her father’s – Spring Electric – and continuing at East Sparta Manufacturing, among others. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker who cherished the time that she spent with her family. She was an avid reader who loved working crosswords, as well.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, David (Audra) Wills and Greg Wills; grandchildren, Robert Wills, Jaclyn Wills, Kristina, Broch (Marissa) Wills, Parker Wills, Isabella (Logan) Drescher, and Sydney Wills; great-grandchildren, Liam, Monty, Phebe, and Maverick (with another expected); brother, Bob (Shari) Spring; brother-in-law, Bob Miller; sister-in-law, Kathy Spring; many nieces and nephews; and “her man”, Stan Swope.
Pastor David Geyer will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Saturday, January 25, at R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring Bette Anne’s memory may be made to First Moravian Church of Uhrichsville, 315 N. Water St., Uhrichsville, OH 44683 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
