Betty J. Rieker, 99, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Tampa Gardens.
Born in Tampa, Florida on November 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lillian (Moore) Lucas.
She married Herman “Ben” Rieker on March 9, 1948. Ben preceded her in death on April 7, 2008. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; James (Retha) Lucas, John (Lois) Lucas, and Linwood (Beverly) Lucas; two sisters, Ruth Lucas and Katherine (Rex) Crocker; along with her aunt and uncle, Juanita and Vernon Byant.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover and the Methodist Church in Tampa. She was president of the New Philadelphia VFW Auxiliary from 1980 to 1986. She was also active with the AirForce Family Service. She supported the Rotary Club and was presented with Paul Harris Fellowship.
Betty leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 11:00- 12:00 pm. A funeral will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 pm with Pastor David St. Aubin officiating. Interment will be at Dover Burial Park.
