Beverly Ann Welsch, 86, of Sugarcreek, passed away peacefully in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born in Millersburg on April 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Donald Elton and Evelyn Jennie (Buren) Christopher.

After graduating from Killbuck High School, Beverly continued her formal education in the cadet program at Kent State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Education degree. She taught elementary students at both Killbuck and Garaway schools. After several years in a permanent position, Beverly became a substitute teacher at Garaway where she had a passion for educating students with special needs.

On June 7, 1959, Beverly married the love of her life, Frederick T. Welsch in the former Glenmont Evangelical and Reformed Church. Together, they were blessed with 65 years of marriage, three devoted daughters, and 9 grandchildren whom Beverly adored.

Her greatest joy was being a “Professional Nana”, traveling wherever her grandchildren were participating in their respective activities. She crocheted beautiful afghans for all of her family, now treasured keepsakes. Additionally, she loved to cross stitch, read, work logic puzzles and dote on her cat, Cat Hemingway.

She was blessed by her family including her husband, Fred of Sugarcreek; daughters, Rev. Beth (Rev. Dave) Westphal of Tiffin and their children, Kristen Westphal, Aaron (Tomnica) Westphal and Sarah Westphal, Amy (Tim) Stephens of Waynesville and their children, Katie (Brian) Hukari, Ben Stephens and Josh Stephens, and Jennie (Greg) Arbogast of Dover and their children, Frankie, Leigh and Julianna Arbogast; her sisters-in-law, Carol (Jim) Watercutter and Faye Welsch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in passing by her brother, David Christopher, and brother-in-law, Robert Welsch.
