Online bidding is open before the televised event for the Tusc Rainbow Connection’s annual fundraiser.
The 51st Telethon will be held Sunday, March 10th from 11am to 4pm, live on Channel 15 and at www.tuscrainbow.org.
The event raises money to help individuals and families in Tuscarawas County, says Executive Director Perci Garner.
“That is all about medical bills, prescriptions, diabetes supplies, hearing aids, we do a lot of stuff and equipment for people who are disabled. We work with all the school districts in Tuscarawas County. We’re continuing to see where our community needs to be served.”
A variety of auction items can be bid on the website, and it ends Sunday at 2:30pm. Garner adds that if bidding is competitive, the time may be extended.
“Usually we stagger the ends but we are doing it different this year. Everything will end at 2:30, the only difference is if people are battling it out, we will extended it three minutes per bid to 30 minutes max.”
Also new this year is Rainbow items, which allows someone who may not want a physical article to make a direct donation to help the organizations mission.
Last year, over $306,000 was raised, which was record breaking.
