The Twin City Chamber of Commerce along with the mayors of Uhrichsville and Dennison have announced the Uhrichsville BMV will remain open.
The State level BMV agreed to extend the contract until June 30, 2025, where they will re-evaluate the usage of the office.
Online and in-person petitions totaled over 1,800. Some of the reasons cited to keep the office open were issues with travel and internet access.
The threat of closure came after a decrease in transactions, only 33,000 taking place last year, with a cause attributed to online usage. It is noted that if the Uhrichsville BMV continues to decline in transactions, it will be forced to close.
