The safety director for the city of Dover and Buckeye Career Center is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police.

Bob Everett was president of the local FOP Tuscora Lodge Number 4 for close to 30 years. Ohio FOP President Jay McDonald says Everett is well known throughout the state as “someone who is passionate about standing up for those who protect and serve our communities.” He says Everett is worthy of the Steve Young Award, named after the former Ohio and National FOP President who passed away in 2003.

Everett said it took a while to register when McDonald was announcing the award recipient. Everett noted the award’s namesake – Steve Young – was a friend and hero.

“Bob was awarded this prestigious award because of almost 40 years of leadership to his local FOP and the FOP of Ohio,” McDonald said. “He has served as the President of Tuscora Lodge 4 for decades and continues to serve as a member of the executive board to this day.   Bob is well known throughout Ohio as someone is who is passionate about standing up for those who protect and serve our communities, and we are so grateful for his leadership in the FOP.”
