The Dover Public Library is hosting a special America 250 event this Thursday that focuses on the region’s industrial roots.
Library Director Jim Gill says Reeves Home & Museum Director Shelagh Pruni and local history librarian Kim Jurkovic will launch and discuss their new book, “The History of Manufacturing” in Tuscarawas County, in the library’s Community Room Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The book traces the region’s industrial roots—from early grist mills to the rise of iron and steel, and eventually the post–World War II shift toward plastics and chemical production.
Gill says a book signing will follow the presentation. The event is free and open to the public. People wanting to attend Thursday’s presentation on “The History of Manufacturing in Tuscarawas County” can register through the events section at doverlibrary.org.
