Sherrod Brown is trying to connect with Tuscarawas County voters as he seeks a return to the U.S. Senate.
The Democrat spoke to about 150 supporters Monday at Daily Grind Café in New Philadelphia. Brown is running against Republican incumbent Jon Husted this fall.
Despite Tuscarawas County voters backing Donald Trump by about 70 percent in 2024, Brown says he believes his message can still connect here.
Brown says he entered the race because he doesn’t think many Ohioans feel heard in Washington.
Brown lost his senate seat in 2024 after three terms, taking about 46 percent of the statewide vote against Republican Bernie Moreno.
