Calvin Battle 84, of Bolivar, died Monday, September 19, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Byhalia, Mississippi on February 1, 1938.
Calvin was a faithful member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling.
His wife, the former Jackie Hembree, preceded him in death on July 19, 2011. Surviving are his 3 children Jamie (Dennis) Holderbaum of East Sparta, Francis Elaine (Carl) Ady of Bolivar, and Calvin (Melanie) Battle of Boise, Idaho; 2 grandchildren Carrie (Jimmy) Davidson and Katie (Will) Weaver; 3 great-grandchildren Coby Ewing, Kaydee and Oli Davidson and his twin sister and a brother.
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Bolivar United Methodist Church in Bolivar. Pastor Bill Eckert will officiate and burial will follow at a later date in Atwood, Tennessee. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
