Calvin Jack Plants – June 14, 2024

Calvin Jack Plants, 90, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 10, 1933, in Guernsey Co. to the late Robert and Helen (Schweitzer) Plants. He was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from Cox Cable Company after many years of service. He was a Newcomerstown Masonic Lodge 175 member for 50 years, past Commander at the American Legion, and retired Tuscarawas County Veterans Service officer. He also enjoyed time with his family and going on vacations.

On January 20, 1954, he married his wife Norma Jean (McCleary) Plants, who passed away April 8, 2020.

He is survived by his children, Judy (David) Ankrum of West Lafayette, Bob (Karen) Plants of Glen Rose, TX, Connie (Steve) McNelly of Pawleys Island, SC, Ron Plants of Newcomerstown, Jodi Bradford (Tom Shroyer) of Conesville; grandchildren, Shawn and Scott Norman, Cindy McLeod, Ronnie and Gene Plants, Lindsey Jones, Devin and Jaden Bradford; 14 great grandchildren; sibling, Virgil Plants of Gnadenhutten. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Eugene Plants; siblings, J.L., Wayne, and Carl Plants, Barb Masters, Betty Rothenstein.
