A candidacy withdraw created the need for a new democratic nominee to be selected for the November general election.
The Tuscarawas County Party’s Central Committee met on Tuesday to select a candidate for the the office of the Recorder. Sam Hitchcock withdrew his name from the race.
Following presentations from the three applicants, David DiDonato will appear on the ballot.
Over a 47-year career, DiDonato has served as a teacher, coach, principal, dean of students, and athletic director. He graduated from Dennison St. Mary’s High School in 1969.
The county Recorder seat is opening with the retirement of Lori Smith.
