Mary Alice Reporting –
A high-speed chase traveled across Coshocton County with the vehicle involved being stolen out of Dover.
According to a Coshocton Sheriff’s Office release, they were notified about a car heading west on County Road 16 weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. Deputies observed the vehicle and radar showed it going 95mph in a 35mph zone.
The driver continued traveling recklessly going through a stop sign at the intersection of Chestnut Street and N. 16th, before veering off onto a couple other streets, still at a high rate of speed.
After several evasive attempts down different roads, the vehicle turned onto State Route 16, westbound. During the pursuit, the drive attempted to run several vehicle off the road and eventually crossed into Muskingum County.
Continuing on, the car went into the grass median to the eastbound lane toward oncoming traffic. One deputy tried a controlled contact to stop the vehicle but it continued onto Raiders Road toward SR 60.
Deputies were waiting and deployed stop sticks, with the car stopping just north of Dresden on SR 60.
It appears the vehicle was stolen earlier on Saturday, September 23rd, from the Dover Police Departments jurisdiction. A name and further details are being withheld until formal charges.
