Cara Marie Marburger, age 35, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2026.
Born December 26, 1990, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, Cara was the cherished daughter of Keith and Kathy (Hennis) Marburger, and beloved sister of Matthew Marburger and his partner, Jacob Masters, all of Dover. Born into a large extended family, Cara loved attending birthdays and holidays with her brother and cousins, who she considered to be her very first friends. She was raised in Dover and spent many happy summers swimming at her grandparents’ pool. Growing up, she played volleyball and softball and participated in cheerleading. Cara’s faith was nurtured at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dover.
A 2009 graduate of Dover High School, Cara furthered her studies at Otterbein University and The Ohio State University. Most of her professional career was spent working alongside her father and brother at the former Marburger Insurance Agency in Dover, where she delighted clients with her friendliness, kindness, and care. She specialized in marketing the agency on social media, where her innate creativity earned new clients and connected her with other insurance professionals.
Cara loved spending time with friends and family, and in her downtime, she indulged in episodes of Dateline, true crime shows, and reality TV. She loved chatting over a glass of Moscato and was a fierce cat mom to her treasured orange tabby, Opie. Cara was a small woman with a big personality and even larger heart for those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Patricia Hennis, and Merle and Ruth Marburger; an aunt, Sally Secrest; and uncles, Larry Marburger and Fred Clugston. Along with her parents and brother, she will be fondly remembered by her aunts, Elena Hennis, Brenda Clugston, Beth Marburger, and June Marburger; aunts and uncles David and Patricia Hennis, and David and Paula Sickinger; and Uncle Bill Schwabland. Cara will be sadly missed by many cousins and their children, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Cara is also survived by her husband, Silas Pisani.
Though our lives are dimmer without Cara’s earthly presence, we cherish her vibrant spirit and inherent kindness. While it was far too short, we take solace that our world is a better place for the time we shared together with her. With gratitude, Cara’s family requests that any donations made in her memory be directed to The Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd NE, New Philadelphia, OH.
